After finishing the time lapse photos from the garden I noticed the flowers on the Magnolia.  Wonderfully white flowers.

Rice Lake

It was cloudy morning so my son decided we should head out to the Seymour Destination Forest on the North Shore and hike around Rice Lake.He was pretty excited about using my D90 while I shot with my D800. Weather aside we had a fun time.

Glow Sticks & Sparklers

Wanted to use my remote trigger but it is not compatible with the my new D800.  So tried out the self-timer snapping glow sticks & sparklers.

Nikon D800

Now shooting with Nikon D800, my first FX-format camera.  Slowly building up FX glass  when possible.

Right now I have a AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED and a Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 AI-s. Depending on the trip I’ll grab one of the two bags below.  A full list of my gear is listed within each bag.

D800 First Night Shoot

Went out to a couple of different places in Vancouver with my son to play with the Nikon D800 at night.  Plus I left my tripod at home. Tried a variety of snaps at varying levels of ISO and a few techniques from classes to add some unique twists.

D800 ISO 5000

Went into a house down the block, that is set for tear down, to test out the high ISO settings on the Nikon D800. Went down to the basement to avoid the natural light and took a couple of snaps at ISO 5000.  The clarity was amazing.

Wow was this fun.

Spring Daffodils

These caught my eye after returning from a run.  The sun was going out and the dew was still hanging on.
